Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj

Installed as Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Juna Akhada — the largest of the thirteen akhadas — by the consensus of its saints at the Haridwar Kumbh of 1998, Pujya Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj is among the most revered voices of Sanatana Dharma today. From Harihar Ashram at Kankhal, Haridwar, he guides the Prabhu Premi Sangh and has initiated a vast generation of Naga sannyasis into the order. A master orator of Vedanta whose discourse draws lakhs at every Kumbh, he has represented Hindu dharma at world religious councils and at the United Nations, and presides over the Juna Akhada's spiritual throne at every Amrit Snan.
